From the very first day that she set foot on court, Edenvale High’s Shiloh Berardelli<\/strong> knew netball was more than just a game; it was her passion.<\/p>\n

Shiloh’s journey began at pre-primary school when her mom signed her up for a club called Nutty Netters<\/em>. What started as a fun after-school activity quickly developed into a lifelong love for the sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cEver since then, I\u2019ve been playing netball non-stop,\u201d Shiloh says. \u201cI\u2019d definitely say the competitiveness made me fall in love with the sport because I\u2019m a very competitive person.”<\/p>\n

Beyond the drive to win, Shiloh also cherishes the friendships that she has built through the game, connections that have turned teammates into family.<\/p>\n

Her inspiration began close to home, with her mom being the first person to motivate her. As she entered high school, Shiloh found new role models in Robyn Bull<\/strong> and Alex Meimaris<\/strong>, both standout players for Edenvale\u2019s first team. Another major influence was Joy Toerien<\/strong>, the school\u2019s first-team coach, who shaped Shiloh\u2019s approach in terms of hard work and teamwork.<\/p>\n

Primarily playing in the GA<\/strong> and WA<\/strong> positions, Shiloh thrives in attack. She is known for her ability to create opportunities, assist teammates, and give her all every time she steps on court.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love assisting my teammates and putting every bit of effort in so that the team can pull off a win,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

One of her most memorable experiences came during the Menlo Tournament<\/strong>, where Edenvale High produced a stunning performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe memories made on and off the court, as a team, are unforgettable,\u201d Shiloh reflects.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Shiloh has big dreams for her netball future.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn five years, I see myself playing competitively either here in South Africa or overseas. I\u2019d love to play internationally, but for now, my goal is to play TNL.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her message to young athletes is simple but powerful:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou must always work hard for what you want. Nothing will ever come easy. Don\u2019t let a small setback defeat you or your purpose; it happens for a reason.
