Photo: Frans Lombard\/Actionpix.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"379\">Continuous rain in Pretoria over recent weeks had made life difficult for the <strong data-start=\"153\" data-end=\"175\">Ho\u00ebrskool Zwartkop<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"180\" data-end=\"207\">Cornwall Hill College <\/strong>girls&#8217; 1st XIs, who had been eager to battle it out in the <strong data-start=\"286\" data-end=\"321\">Switch Schools SA20 &#8211; Volume Two<\/strong> girls&#8217; final for the <strong data-start=\"360\" data-end=\"376\">Titans Union<\/strong>&#8216;s title.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"381\" data-end=\"879\">At last, on Thursday, they met, nine days after the rain-shortened semi-finals were completed on 4 November.<\/p>\n<p>Incredibly, the Zwartkop girls, who went on to lift the trophy, didn&#8217;t lose a single wicket in either their semi-final win, or in their comprehensive victory over Cornwall Hill College in the title game.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"881\" data-end=\"1328\">In the <em><strong>Zwarries<\/strong><\/em>&#8216; semi-final, which was reduced to a nerve-wracking five overs &#8211; no chance for any errors &#8211; they thumped the <strong data-start=\"962\" data-end=\"980\">Soshanguve Hub<\/strong> by 10 wickets; five overs are the minimum requirement for a result to be declared in a T20 match.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"881\" data-end=\"1328\">Captain <strong>Chanel Venter <\/strong>led the way in that game, smashing an unbeaten 20 to help her side chase down a target of 29 runs in only 2.5 overs.<\/p>\n<p>Cornwall&#8217;s semi-final lasted longer, with both sides set to bat for 15 overs, although the <strong data-start=\"1556\" data-end=\"1587\">Duckworth\u2013Lewis\u2013Stern (DLS)<\/strong> <strong>Method<\/strong> was needed after rain once again halted play.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Cricket Final - Cornwall Hill vs Ho\u00ebrskool Zwartkop - Switch Schools SA20 - 13 November 2025\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aGfKxZkcRg8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong data-start=\"1330\" data-end=\"1352\">Gabriella Sequeira<\/strong> led the way for Cornwall, weighing in with a sublime unbeaten 62 from just 39 deliveries, which proved to be a match-winning knock in a 19-run win over the <strong data-start=\"1503\" data-end=\"1523\">Hammanskraal Hub<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1633\" data-end=\"2055\">In the final, though, Cornwall Hill College had no answers to the brilliance of <strong data-start=\"1696\" data-end=\"1713\">Thyea Gerhard<\/strong>, who set up Zwartkop for victory in the title decider with a magnificent spell of 4\/15. <strong data-start=\"1850\" data-end=\"1875\">Jean-Mari Engelbrecht<\/strong> complemented her with 3\/25.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-start=\"1929\" data-end=\"1944\">Rae Haagner<\/strong> provided some resistance for Cornwall, compiling an unbeaten 33, to lift her side to 96 before the final wicket fell.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2057\" data-end=\"2578\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Unfortunately for the home side, <strong>Chanel Venter<\/strong> was in a destructive mood.
