Van der Wal is also Grey College\u2019s head of rugby. He will coach the first team with Ingo Machts after Jaco Swanepoel decided to take the head coach job at the University of the Free State.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">Van der Wal coached Grey College\u2019s first team from 1984 till 2005 before leaving Swanepoel with the job as head coach. Van der Wal coached with the legendary Jos Labuschagne until 1997 when the latter retired. Labuschagne passed away last year. He and Van der Wal groomed quite a few Springboks and provincial players when they coached the first team.<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">Grey College had a tremendous season last year and Van der Wal and Machts will have a difficult job to take the team of 2008 to the same heights.
