Photo: Hannes Nienaber.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\"><strong>Boys<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nOnly two teams remain undefeated as the boys&#8217; u16 division of the <strong>Schools Water Polo South Africa Inter-Provincial Tournament<\/strong> heads into the playoffs on Tuesday at <strong>St John&#8217;s College<\/strong>, in Johannesburg.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/u16BoysIPT2025-WaterPolo\"><strong>Catch the action LIVE on SuperSport Schools<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Western Province A<\/strong>, loaded with a star-studded line-up, are four from four after romping to a 16-3 win over <strong>Central Gauteng B<\/strong> and a 14-7 victory over <strong>Western Province B<\/strong> on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re the tournament&#8217;s top scorers thus far, averaging 16 goals a game, with <strong>James Swart<\/strong> topping all scorers, too, with 15.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\">While Province A finished top of Group A, <strong>KwaZulu-Natal<\/strong> claimed first place in Group B, and their clean run included a 10-7 win over <strong>Central Gauteng A<\/strong> on Monday in the biggest game of the group stage of the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Max Mills<\/strong>, their top scorer, was again to the fore, striking four times.\u00a0KZN also downed <strong>Nelson Mandela Bay<\/strong> 9-4, with Mills adding another three goals to his personal tally.<\/p>\n<p>Central Gauteng A finished second in Group B, with that defeat to KZN their only loss, while <strong>Buffalo City<\/strong> claimed second in Group A.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday&#8217;s playoff matches begin at 08:00 at St John&#8217;s with <strong>Northerns<\/strong> tackling Western Province A in the first quarterfinal. Photo: Hannes Nienaber.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><strong>Girls<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\">In the girls&#8217; competition, being played at <strong>Kingsmead College<\/strong>, <strong>Central Gauteng A<\/strong> and <strong>Western Province A<\/strong> topped their groups, with Central Gauteng A behind KZN A by only one goal on goal difference in Group A. When they met on Sunday, <a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/central-gauteng-u16-girls-edge-out-kzn-boys-big-guns-win\/\"><strong>the home team won a thriller 9-8<\/strong><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/u16GirlsIPT2025-WaterPolo\"><strong>Catch the action LIVE on SuperSport Schools<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Matters went a lot more smoothly on Monday, with Central Gauteng A thumping <strong>Northerns<\/strong> 17-2 before beating <strong>Western Province B<\/strong> 12-6.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pf0\"><span class=\"cf0\">Western Province A, meanwhile, was made to work extremely hard for a 7-5 win over <strong>Nelson Mandela Bay<\/strong>, who ended up finishing bottom of Group B. It wasn&#8217;t easy against <strong>Zimbabwe<\/strong> either, with Province winning by two goals again, 9-7.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>KZN won more emphatically, beating <strong>Eden Districts<\/strong> 9-4 before blanking <strong>Northerns<\/strong> 13-0.<\/p>\n<p>Group A runners-up, <strong>Buffalo City<\/strong>, beat <strong>Central Gauteng B<\/strong> 8-6 in their lone outing.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s an 08:00 start on Tuesday, with Central Gauteng A facing Central Gauteng B in the first of the quarterfinals. That theme of regional rivalry is repeated in the second quarterfinal at 08:55, when Western Province A takes on Western Province B.<\/p>\n<p>At 09:50, it&#8217;s Zimbabwe versus KwaZulu-Natal the third last eight clash, and Eden Districts goes up against Buffalo City in the last of the quarterfinals at 10:45.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration:
