Photo: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TeamphotoSA\">TeamPhoto SA<\/a><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Five players from <strong>Central Gauteng A<\/strong> and four from <strong>Western Province A<\/strong> were included in the SA Schools boys&#8217; squad that was announced at the conclusion of the <strong>Schools Water Polo South Africa<\/strong> <strong>Inter-Provincial Tournament<\/strong> <strong>(IPT)<\/strong> in Johannesburg on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>In the 50th edition of the event, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/central-gauteng-bags-another-ipt-title-after-pipping-wp-in-dramatic-u19-final\/\">Gauteng boys defeated Western Province 12-11 in the final<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>They also took the title in 2024, in East London, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/central-gauteng-holds-off-kzn-in-tight-u19-final\/\">beating KwaZulu-Natal A in the gold medal game<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Central Gauteng A and Western Province A dominated play from the opening day and finished the group stage unscathed and with maximum points.<\/p>\n<p>In the semi-finals, Gauteng defeated KZN in a repeat of last year&#8217;s title game, while Province was made to work hard for their victory over <strong>Northern Gauteng<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The final, at <strong>St David&#8217;s Marist Inanda<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Jubilee Pool,<\/strong> had to be stopped and continued at the <strong>Indoor Aquatic Centre <\/strong>at <strong>St John&#8217;s College <\/strong>because of lightning.<\/p>\n<p>Gauteng made a strong start and kept their noses in front, holding off a strong finish from Province to lay claim to the trophy. Their reward included a handful of players being named in the South African Schools&#8217; squad.<\/p>\n<p>Goalkeeper <strong>Dylan Wiggill<\/strong> was the first name called out, and he was quickly joined on the stage by his teammates <strong>Declan Wood<\/strong>, <strong>Cooper Haworth<\/strong>, <strong>James Crick<\/strong>, and captain <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/its-the-last-dance-for-nicholas-searle-as-gauteng-hunts-another-ipt-title\/\">Nicholas Searle<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_87713\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-87713\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-87713\" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-12-08-at-7.09.46-PM-b-400x266.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-87713\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Both Benjamin Bigara (Western Province no. 8) and Jamie Nicolau (KZN no. 4) made the SA Schools&#8217; squad.
