Photo: Eastern Storm on Facebook.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Mieke van Voorst<\/strong> was crowned the <strong>Cricketer of the Week<\/strong> for her exploits at the <strong>CSA Girls u19 Week <\/strong>in <strong>Potchefstroom<\/strong>, which ended on Thursday,\u00a0and will captain a star-studded <strong>SA Schools <\/strong>team.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Eastern Storm<\/strong> star was the only batter to record a century in the 50-over section of matches, which she finished as the highest run-getter.<\/p>\n<p>She was also among the top run-scorers in the four T20 games, finishing fourth on the list.<\/p>\n<p>Those performances earned her the <strong>Batter of the Tournament <\/strong>and the <strong>All-rounder of the Tournament<\/strong> accolades in the <strong>Platinum<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the Eastern Storm compiling an unbeaten record, Van Voorst is the only player from the side to make the 12-member SA Schools side. Four other provinces &#8211; <strong>Mpumalanga, The Titans<\/strong>, <strong>Free State<\/strong>, and <strong>North<\/strong> <strong>West<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0have a single player each in the team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chris-Mari Bezuidenhout<\/strong>, who claimed the <strong>Batter of the Tournament<\/strong> award in the <strong>Gold<\/strong> section, represents Mpumalanga, while <strong>Simon\u00e9 Lourens<\/strong>, <strong>Kamogelo Kgaswane<\/strong>, and <strong>Rethabile Nthoba<\/strong> fly the flags for The Titans, Free State, and North West, respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Limpopo&#8217;<\/strong>s <strong>Murisi Rikhotso<\/strong>, who took home the <strong>Bowler of the Tournament<\/strong> gong in the Platinum section, is one of two bowlers from<strong> Limpopo<\/strong> to be named in the SA Schools team. The other is <strong>Respect Mabasa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ziya Mohanlall<\/strong>, who was named the <strong>Bowler of the Tournament<\/strong> in the Gold section, is one of two <strong>Dolphins&#8217;<\/strong> players in the SA Schools team, where she is joined by top-order batter, <strong>Shreeya Subbiah<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Lions have the most representatives with three players &#8211; <strong>Fay Cowling<\/strong>, <strong>Leani Swanepoel<\/strong>, and <strong>Diara Ramlakan<\/strong> &#8211; earning selection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kei<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>Enkosi Mditshwa<\/strong> was named the <strong>All-rounder of the Tournament<\/strong> in the Gold section and is one of 12 players picked for the <strong>Fillies<\/strong> team. Her Kei teammate <strong>Thembakazi Gegesi<\/strong> has also been included in the side.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boland<\/strong>, <strong>Western Province<\/strong>, the <strong>SWD Garden Route Badgers<\/strong>, North West, Mpumalanga, the <strong>Eastern Cape Iinyathi<\/strong>, and The Dolphins have a player each in the Fillies&#8217; line-up.
