Mieke van Voorst<\/strong> was crowned the Cricketer of the Week<\/strong> for her exploits at the CSA Girls u19 Week <\/strong>in Potchefstroom<\/strong>, which ended on Thursday,\u00a0and will captain a star-studded SA Schools <\/strong>team.<\/p>\n

The Eastern Storm<\/strong> star was the only batter to record a century in the 50-over section of matches, which she finished as the highest run-getter.<\/p>\n

She was also among the top run-scorers in the four T20 games, finishing fourth on the list.<\/p>\n

Those performances earned her the Batter of the Tournament <\/strong>and the All-rounder of the Tournament<\/strong> accolades in the Platinum<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n

Despite the Eastern Storm compiling an unbeaten record, Van Voorst is the only player from the side to make the 12-member SA Schools side. Four other provinces – Mpumalanga, The Titans<\/strong>, Free State<\/strong>, and North<\/strong> West<\/strong> –\u00a0have a single player each in the team.<\/p>\n

Chris-Mari Bezuidenhout<\/strong>, who claimed the Batter of the Tournament<\/strong> award in the Gold<\/strong> section, represents Mpumalanga, while Simon\u00e9 Lourens<\/strong>, Kamogelo Kgaswane<\/strong>, and Rethabile Nthoba<\/strong> fly the flags for The Titans, Free State, and North West, respectively.<\/p>\n

Limpopo’<\/strong>s Murisi Rikhotso<\/strong>, who took home the Bowler of the Tournament<\/strong> gong in the Platinum section, is one of two bowlers from Limpopo<\/strong> to be named in the SA Schools team. The other is Respect Mabasa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ziya Mohanlall<\/strong>, who was named the Bowler of the Tournament<\/strong> in the Gold section, is one of two Dolphins’<\/strong> players in the SA Schools team, where she is joined by top-order batter, Shreeya Subbiah<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Lions have the most representatives with three players – Fay Cowling<\/strong>, Leani Swanepoel<\/strong>, and Diara Ramlakan<\/strong> – earning selection.<\/p>\n

Kei<\/strong>\u2019s Enkosi Mditshwa<\/strong> was named the All-rounder of the Tournament<\/strong> in the Gold section and is one of 12 players picked for the Fillies<\/strong> team. Her Kei teammate Thembakazi Gegesi<\/strong> has also been included in the side.<\/p>\n

Boland<\/strong>, Western Province<\/strong>, the SWD Garden Route Badgers<\/strong>, North West, Mpumalanga, the Eastern Cape Iinyathi<\/strong>, and The Dolphins have a player each in the Fillies’ line-up. They are represented by Maria van der Vyver<\/strong>, Imaan van Schalkwyk<\/strong>, Mi-Jeanne Botha<\/strong>, Deidr\u00e9 van Rensburg<\/strong>, Ashley Barnard<\/strong>, Malakhiwe Somhlahlo,<\/strong> and Ziyanda Xulu<\/strong> respectively.<\/p>\n

The Eastern Storm has the greatest representation in the Fillies’ squad, with Mpumelelo Mashiloane<\/strong>, Tamzyn Hartman<\/strong>, and Ashleigh van Wyk <\/strong>all cracking the nod.<\/p>\n

SA Schools and SA Fillies meet on the JB Marks Oval<\/strong>, in Potchefstroom, on Friday, in a T20 clash.<\/p>\n
