Photo: Necco Production\/ Cricket South Africa.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The brilliance of 14-year-old Indian prodigy <strong data-start=\"245\" data-end=\"268\">Vaibhav Suryavanshi<\/strong> ultimately overshadowed a century from <strong data-start=\"308\" data-end=\"324\">Jason Rowles<\/strong> as <strong data-start=\"328\" data-end=\"341\">India u19<\/strong> secured victory in the three-match <strong>Youth ODI<\/strong> series with a second successive victory over <strong>South Africa u19<\/strong> on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The eight-wicket win in a rain-affected contest at <strong>Willowmoore Park<\/strong> saw the visitors take a winning 2-0 lead in the three-match series.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"536\" data-end=\"1003\"><strong data-start=\"536\" data-end=\"551\">Suryavanshi<\/strong> first captured global attention in 2024 when\u00a0<span style=\"margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">the <strong>Indian Premier League<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Rajasthan Royals <\/strong>signed him<\/span> at just 13 years of age. In 2025, he made history by debuting at 14 and, since then, the teenage sensation has continued to shatter records.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"536\" data-end=\"1003\">On Monday, in Benoni, he broke <strong data-start=\"841\" data-end=\"859\">Rishabh Pant<\/strong>&#8216;s record for the fastest half-century at u19 level, reaching the milestone from just 15 balls to better Pant&#8217;s mark by three balls.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1005\" data-end=\"1469\">Last year, <strong data-start=\"1014\" data-end=\"1029\">Suryavanshi<\/strong> registered the fastest century at the Youth ODI level, requiring only 52 balls to reach triple figures against <strong data-start=\"1145\" data-end=\"1156\">England<\/strong> in Worcester.<\/p>\n<p>His innings on Monday lasted only 24 balls, produced 68 runs, and it included an astonishing 10 sixes and just one four. His assault placed <strong data-start=\"1341\" data-end=\"1350\">India<\/strong> firmly in control while chasing South Africa&#8217;s 246, which was built around a superb innings from 17-year-old <strong>Jason Rowles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1471\" data-end=\"1893\">He batted with authority, facing 113 deliveries for his 114 before being dismissed by <strong data-start=\"1565\" data-end=\"1576\">India<\/strong>&#8216;s standout bowler on the day, <strong data-start=\"1605\" data-end=\"1621\">Kishan Kumar<\/strong>, who finished with figures of 4\/46. The top-order batsman from the <strong data-start=\"1688\" data-end=\"1713\">Central Gauteng Lions<\/strong> punished anything short, striking three sixes and seven fours.<\/p>\n<p>However, he received limited support. Only <strong data-start=\"1825\" data-end=\"1842\">Daniel Bosman<\/strong> (31) and <strong data-start=\"1852\" data-end=\"1871\">Adnaan Lagadien<\/strong> (25) also made it past 20.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1895\" data-end=\"2215\">In contrast, <strong data-start=\"1908\" data-end=\"1923\">Suryavanshi<\/strong>, who captained the visitors, enjoyed solid support. <strong data-start=\"1995\" data-end=\"2013\">Abhigyan Kundu<\/strong> (48*) and <strong data-start=\"2024\" data-end=\"2042\">Vedant Trivedi<\/strong> (31*) both contributed unbeaten knocks as <strong data-start=\"2085\" data-end=\"2094\">India<\/strong> cruised to a <strong>Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS)<\/strong> revised target of 174 following rain delays.
