{"id":8894,"date":"2019-06-21T06:01:19","date_gmt":"2019-06-21T06:01:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rugby.supersportschools.com\/hendrikse-nominated-for-u20-champs-breakthrough-player-award\/"},"modified":"2019-06-21T06:01:19","modified_gmt":"2019-06-21T06:01:19","slug":"hendrikse-nominated-for-u20-champs-breakthrough-player-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=8894","title":{"rendered":"Hendrikse nominated for U20 Champs breakthrough player award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft size-full wp-image-8844\" style=\"margin: 0px 10px 5px 0px; float: left;\" src=\"https:\/\/rugby.supersportschools.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/NewsGJadenHendrikse.JPG\" alt=\"NewsGJadenHendrikse\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" \/>Junior Springbok scrumhalf Jaden Hendrikse has been nominated as one of four players for the World Rugby U20 Championship Breakthrough Player of the Tournament award after a strong contribution to the team\u2019s performance in the international showpiece in Rosario.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hendrikse will go head-to-head with French flyhalf Louis Carbonel, Argentina centre Juan Pablo Castro and Australian flanker Fraser McReight for the award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Hendrikse &#8211; who turned 19 years-old in March \u2013 made his debut for the Junior Springboks in the U20 International Series in the Western Cape in April, and he has been a key figure in the squad since.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He is a product of SA Rugby\u2019s Elite Player Development programme, with his selection for the Junior Springbok squad following appearances in the U17 SA Rugby Interprovincial Sevens tournament, U18 SA Rugby Craven Week and the SA Schools team in the AON U18 International Series.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">His cool head and calm presence on the field has earned him a starting berth in all four of the team\u2019s World Rugby U20 Championship matches up to now.
