Photo: Schalk Coetzee.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p data-start=\"154\" data-end=\"417\">Lunch at <strong data-start=\"163\" data-end=\"187\">Ho\u00ebrskool Hans Moore<\/strong> must have tasted just a little more flavourful than usual for <strong data-start=\"231\" data-end=\"245\">Aidan Shaw<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"250\" data-end=\"267\">Kearan Weyers<\/strong> after they spearheaded their side to a scintillating victory over the defending Northern Region champions in the <strong>Switch Schools SA20<\/strong> on Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"154\" data-end=\"417\"><strong>Relive all the\u00a0<em>Switch Schools SA20\u00a0<\/em>action or catch it LIVE on SuperSport Schools &#8211; (www.supersportschools.com)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"419\" data-end=\"707\">The younger of the Shaw brothers produced a statement performance, striking an unbeaten century in a 24-run win over <strong data-start=\"536\" data-end=\"561\">Ho\u00ebrskool Garsfontein<\/strong> on home soil in Benoni.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"419\" data-end=\"707\">The hosts, however, narrowly missed out on a valuable bonus point, falling short by four runs of restricting the <strong><em data-start=\"691\" data-end=\"699\">Ysbere<\/em><\/strong> to 120, which would have earned them an extra point.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"1124\"><strong data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"717\">Shaw<\/strong> was the central figure in a dramatic recovery after <strong><em data-start=\"774\" data-end=\"783\">Moories<\/em> <\/strong>slumped to 8\/2 early on, and then to 12\/3 in the fourth over.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"1124\">Facing 70 of the innings&#8217; 120 balls, the all-rounder smashed a superb unbeaten 103, peppering the boundary with 12 boundaries, six of which cleared the rope. Remarkably, he was the only Hans Moore batsman to pass 20, with the next highest score a modest 15 from <strong data-start=\"1104\" data-end=\"1123\">Stephan Vermaak<\/strong>, which was almost seven times less than Shaw&#8217;s outstanding knock.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1126\" data-end=\"1318\">The bulk of the damage inflicted by the <em data-start=\"1151\" data-end=\"1159\"><strong>Garsies<\/strong>&#8216; <\/em>bowlers was wrought by <strong data-start=\"1191\" data-end=\"1207\">Ruan Coetzee<\/strong>, who produced an impressive new-ball spell, grabbing two wickets in his four overs, which cost 27 runs.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1320\" data-end=\"1599\">Weyers, Han Moore&#8217;s<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>left-arm off-spinner, continued his outstanding form.<a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/weyers-wows-as-hans-moore-wins-big\/\"><strong> Fresh off scoring 95 and bagging a four-wicket haul against<\/strong> <strong data-start=\"1448\" data-end=\"1475\">Potchefstroom Gimnasium<\/strong><\/a>, he was again decisive, returning match-winning figures of 4\/17 from four overs, which played a pivotal role in restricting the defending champions to 126 all out.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1601\" data-end=\"1768\"><strong data-start=\"1601\" data-end=\"1618\">Riaan Boshoff<\/strong> top-scored for the Pretoria side with a fluent 38 from 28 balls to sound a warning ahead of Garsfontein&#8217;s afternoon clash against <strong data-start=\"1742\" data-end=\"1767\">Ho\u00ebrskool Ben Vorster<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1770\" data-end=\"2064\">At <strong>Actonville Cricket Club<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1781\" data-end=\"1809\">Ho\u00ebrskool Marais Viljoen<\/strong> swept aside <strong data-start=\"1822\" data-end=\"1851\">Merensky Landbou Akademie<\/strong>, winning by six wickets behind an inspired innings from opening batsman <strong data-start=\"1914\" data-end=\"1931\">Trent Shrives<\/strong>. Chasing 117 to win, <strong data-start=\"1946\" data-end=\"1957\">Shrives<\/strong> struck an unbeaten 62 from 51 balls to almost single-handedly steer his side to victory. No other batsmen made it beyond the teens.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2066\" data-end=\"2515\"><strong data-start=\"2066\" data-end=\"2104\">Afrikaanse Ho\u00ebr Seunskool (Affies)<\/strong> also made a powerful early statement, skittling the <strong><em data-start=\"2157\" data-end=\"2169\">Black Caps<\/em><\/strong> of <strong data-start=\"2173\" data-end=\"2198\">Ho\u00ebrskool Ben Vorster<\/strong> for only 58 to set up an emphatic eight-wicket victory.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-start=\"2243\" data-end=\"2255\">JP Botha<\/strong> starred with a superb all-round display, which was highlighted by his 4\/8 from four overs, which tore apart Ben Vorster&#8217;s innings. Later, he chipped in with an unbeaten 24.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-start=\"2392\" data-end=\"2411\">Vihan Pretorius<\/strong>, who is usually a seam bowling threat, bowled off spin and was rewarded with two wickets in three balls in the 15th over. He was also part of a run out and finished with figures of 2\/14.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2517\" data-end=\"2702\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\"><strong data-start=\"2517\" data-end=\"2526\">AJ Morkel <\/strong>helped JP Botha make light work of the run chase.
