Photo: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/standrewsbloem?igsh=MTJlbXl6OTU2cmdtdg==\"><strong>St Andrew&#8217;s School on Instagram.<\/strong><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Jeppe High School for Boys vs St Andrew&#8217;s School<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After winning the toss against<strong> Jeppe High School for Boys<\/strong> on Friday afternoon, <strong>St Andrew&#8217;s School<\/strong> chose to bat first in their T20 fixture on the <strong>Beckwith Oval<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Jeppe&#8217;s bowlers responded well to the challenge, dominating proceedings. <strong>Goolam Ahmed<\/strong> snapped up 3\/12 in three overs, <strong>Reza Ayob <\/strong>snared 3\/29 across four overs, and <strong>Daniel Keating <\/strong>claimed 2\/10 in a two-over spell.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schalk van Rensburg<\/strong>, batting at five, was the only <em><strong>Saints<\/strong><\/em>&#8216; batsman to muster more than 20 runs, striking two fours and a six in his 32 off 35 balls.<\/p>\n<p>The visitors were kept in check and bowled out for 114 off the last ball of their 20 overs. Captain <strong>Reuben van Aarde<\/strong> was unbeaten on his 100th cap for the school &#8211; but then again, he didn&#8217;t face a single delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Faced with a modest victory target, Jeppe needed to put one or two partnerships together, and openers <strong>Christian Naik<\/strong> and <strong>Vegas Scott<\/strong> set them up for a comfortable win by combining for 70 for the first wicket.<\/p>\n<p>Scott smoked two fours and two sixes in his 37 off 34 deliveries, while Naik was there at the end, unbeaten on 44 from 39, with a four and two sixes.<\/p>\n<p>Leg spinner <strong>Nikhil Sukraj<\/strong> was the only bowler to enjoy success, snaring 2\/18 in four overs, but Jeppe cruised to 115\/2 in 16.2 overs to score a convincing eight-wicket victory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>St. John&#8217;s College vs Grey College<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Houghton, on Sunday, <strong>Grey College<\/strong> won the toss against <strong>St. John&#8217;s College<\/strong> in their 45-over fixture, played on the <strong>Mitchell Oval<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After the visitors chose to bat first, opener <strong>Peter le Roux<\/strong> put his head down, grafted hard and accumulated a hard-earned 92 runs off 147 balls, striking just one four and two sixes in his patient innings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aiden Dodd<\/strong> joined Le Roux in the twelfth over, when Grey College was on 40\/2, and they partnered for 53 runs for the third wicket, with Dodd contributing 31 runs.<\/p>\n<p>With Le Roux playing the anchor role, the visitors tallied 191 all out, losing their last wicket off the last ball of their 45 overs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tapiwa Chikwava<\/strong> produced some top-notch bowling, capturing 4\/33 in eight overs. <strong>Nkosana Sibiya<\/strong> was lethal at the end, picking up 3\/18 in four overs as the visitors were dismissed for 191 on the last ball of their 45 overs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Herman Basson<\/strong> led the St John&#8217;s reply, hammering four fours and a six in his contribution of 56 off 68 balls.
