The Gauteng Development League (GDL) Top 8<\/strong> finals, which were contested over the weekend, served as thrilling scene-setters for the GDL season, which kicks off this coming weekend.<\/p>\n

In the u13 category, Mamelodi Sundowns<\/strong> charged to the title, defeating Siwelele 3-0.<\/p>\n

Melokuhle Mzobe<\/strong> struck twice for the Brazilians<\/strong><\/em>, while Mosa Lesala<\/strong> added the third.<\/p>\n

In the u14 category, Kaizer Chiefs’ <\/strong>coach Mohammed Bhamjee<\/strong> continued on his winning way. In 2024, Chiefs claimed the u13 Top 8 title under Bhamjee. In 2025, they won the u14 title under him.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, they repeated that feat, adding another u14 title after a comfortable 3-0 victory over Highlands Park, with Bokamoso<\/strong> Moisi<\/strong> bagging a brace and Akhona Simelane<\/strong> netting the other.<\/p>\n

The u15 final featured another showdown between Mamelodi Sundowns and Siwelele.<\/p>\n

It ended goalless after regulation time, but the Brazilians captured the title from the spot, winning 4-3 on penalties, with Kealeboga Rasephehi<\/strong> successfully converting the winning kick.<\/p>\n

Siwelele tasted success in the u17 final, edging out Kaizer Chiefs 1-0, much to the delight of their loyal supporters. London Samuels<\/strong> scored the all-important winner.<\/p>\n

The day’s most eagerly awaited final, the u19 title game, featured Kaizer Chiefs against Remember Elite Sport Academy (RESA)<\/strong>. In a fiercely contested match, the Chiefs snatched a slim 1-0 win, thanks to a goal from Karabo Modikwe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The final of the Gauteng Women’s Development League (GWDL)<\/strong> u17 division featured a flurry of goals when Pretoria sides, Mamelodi Sundowns and Refilwe, met for the title.<\/p>\n

Both offences flourished, but Banyana Ba Style<\/strong><\/em> claimed the honours, recording a 5-3 victory.<\/p>\n

In the u15 final, Panorama<\/strong> held on for a 1-0 win over the University of Pretoria<\/strong> (Tuks), who gave it a good go but couldn’t find a way through the resolute Panorama defence.<\/p>\n
