{"id":91616,"date":"2026-03-01T06:31:23","date_gmt":"2026-03-01T04:31:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=91616"},"modified":"2026-03-01T06:31:23","modified_gmt":"2026-03-01T04:31:23","slug":"feisty-semifinal-battles-locked-in-at-kes-water-polo-tournament","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test.ssschoolsplus.co.za\/?p=91616","title":{"rendered":"Feisty semifinal battles locked in at KES Water Polo Tournament"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-91646\" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/water-polo-ball-generic-010326-400x285.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"285\" \/>Bishops<\/strong> will take on <strong>South African College High School<\/strong> (SACS), while <strong>Kearsney College<\/strong> battles <strong>St David\u2019s Marist Inanda<\/strong> in the two semifinals of the <a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/the-very-best-chase-silverware-at-the-kes-water-polo-tournament\/\"><strong>KES Water Polo Tournament<\/strong><\/a> in Johannesburg on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/live.supersportschools.com\/category\/606f65f91eea03755e56797c\/sub-category\/699d50866453abe7cb4026aa\/\"><strong>Catch the action LIVE on SuperSport Schools<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The four sides booked their respective spots in the last four after picking up some handy results on day two at the <strong>KES Aquatic Centre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>After an <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/contenders-pave-the-way-on-day-one-of-kes-water-polo-tournament\/\">entertaining opening day<\/a><\/strong>, Bishops maintained their unbeaten run and finished the pool stages with a nervy 9-8 win over St David&#8217;s.\u00a0That win meant they would face <strong>Hilton College<\/strong> in the last eight.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Waterpolo - Bishops vs St David&amp;apos;s Marist Inanda - KES Waterpolo Tournament - 28 February 2026\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zMCeD41bdww?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>With a semi-final place on the line, the defending champions were clinical. They suffocated Hilton and outplayed the KwaZulu-Natal outfit in almost every facet of the game.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matt Fenn<\/strong> was on fire, netting four times, while <strong>Noah Viuff<\/strong> contributed a brace. <strong>James Malan<\/strong>, <strong>Ryan Dales<\/strong>, <strong>Tim Young,<\/strong> and <strong>Dominic Zulch<\/strong> all chipped in with goals to help their side to a comfortable 9-3 victory.<\/p>\n<p>With the win, Bishops booked a semi-final showdown against their Cape Town rivals, SACS. SACS was made to work hard, but was almost as emphatic in an 8-3 win over <strong>St Stithians<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>SACS, much like Bishops, enjoyed a superb run during the group stage of competition and topped their pool.
