Photo: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TeamphotoSA\">TeamPhotoSA<\/a><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">While the hosts, <strong>King Edward VII<\/strong> (KES), kicked off their <strong>KES Easter Festival<\/strong> campaign with a 4-1 victory against <strong>Grey College<\/strong>, it was the KwaZulu-Natal sides that grabbed the spotlight on day one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>Northwood School<\/strong>, <strong>Westville Boys\u2019 High<\/strong>, <strong>Maritzburg College<\/strong>, and <strong>Glenwood High <\/strong>were in top form and impressed on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Northwood arrived in Johannesburg still buzzing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/founders-festival-dishes-up-drama-and-finishes-in-style\/\">after beating South African College High School<\/a> <\/strong>(SACS) 4-2 at the <strong>Founders Festival<\/strong> a few days ago. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>Luc Boyall<\/strong> scored a hat-trick, and Ben Henwood-Fox also netted as coach <strong>Justin Collins<\/strong>&#8216; side scored a victory that stole the show in Komani.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Northwood took on <strong>Selborne College<\/strong> in their first encounter at KES and, after a slow start, ran away with the clash.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Knights were ruthless inside the D, scoring five goals &#8211; by <strong>Jordan Hatcher<\/strong>, Boyall, <strong>Hamza Amla<\/strong>, <strong>Keegan Reeves,<\/strong> and <strong>Mnqobi Mhlongo &#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0and punished Selborne, who were coming off the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/five-players-to-watch-at-the-nomads-hockey-festival-2\/\">Nomads Hockey Festival<\/a><\/strong> in Pretoria on Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Westville was another side that impressed, blanking <strong>Parktown Boys&#8217; High<\/strong> 4-0.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">They also started fairly slowly, but when the contest opened up in the second chukka, they ran away with it. It was a convincing win for Westville, who&#8217;ve upped their game since the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wins-all-the-way-for-durban-high-school-at-coastal-cup\/\">Coastal Cup<\/a><\/strong> a week ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Maritzburg College and Glenwood High scored the most goals on the day, with College thumping Dale College 6-0 and Glenwood running rampant in a 7-0 hammering of Eldoraigne.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">They return to action on Saturday against <strong>Queen&#8217;s College<\/strong> and <strong>Grey College<\/strong>, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_93010\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-93010\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-93010\" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-04-02-at-5.33.56-PM-b-400x267.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-93010\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Queen&#8217;s College opened their campaign at the KES Easter Festival with a win over Ho\u00ebrskool Waterkloof. Photo: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TeamphotoSA\">TeamPhotoSA<\/a><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Speaking of Queens, the boys from <strong>Komani<\/strong>, led by coach <strong>Michael Baiden<\/strong>, will be pleased with their start to the festival.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">They defeated Pretoria&#8217;s <strong>Ho\u00ebrskool Waterkloof<\/strong> 2-1, thanks to strikes by<strong> Leighton Prince<\/strong> and <strong>Cayden Adonis<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">KES, as mentioned above, put four past Grey College.
