Boland Landbou vs Rondebosch Boys’ High<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stung by a 17-27 defeat to Wynberg Boys’ High<\/strong><\/a> last weekend, Rondebosch Boys’ High<\/strong> travels to Paarl on Saturday for a 12:30 showdown with Boland Landbou<\/strong> on the Pederberg-A<\/strong> Field<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For the ‘Bosch <\/strong><\/em>boys involved in last season’s 1st XV match, they’ll head into the clash with fond memories of an exciting 57-26 triumph in Cape Town. They’ll also have something to prove after their loss to Wynberg.<\/p>\n

On Hawthornden Field,<\/strong> Wynberg scored each of their four tries from rolling mauls. No doubt, defending the rolling maul has been one of the areas upon which Rondebosch has focused ahead of their game against the F<\/strong>armers<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

‘Bosch will provide a strong contest in the set-pieces, led by their loosehead prop, Ryan Lawlor<\/strong>, as Finn Watermeyer<\/strong> has been ruled out due to an injury. Both have explosive power in the scrums, while lock Bertus Versfeld<\/strong> is a force in the lineouts.<\/p>\n

Boland Landbou blindside flank Juan Visagie<\/strong> runs like a centre, but he also exhibits the work rate of a loose forward. He’s a line-breaking threat every time he carries the ball.<\/p>\n

The Farmers<\/strong><\/em> are not without their own incentive for glory. After a\u00a0 24-34 loss to Ho\u00ebrskool Outeniqua<\/strong><\/a> last weekend, their record slipped to four losses in four matches. They’ll be desperate to score a first win. Achieving a victory at home would be especially sweet.<\/p>\n

Ho\u00ebrskool Strand vs Ho\u00ebrskool Parel Vallei<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ho\u00ebrskool Strand<\/strong> was beaten 43-24 when they hosted Ho\u00ebrskool Charlie Hofmeyr<\/strong> last weekend. This Saturday, they have an early kickoff at 12:10, facing Ho\u00ebrskool Parel Vallei (PV)<\/strong>, who are fresh off a 32-17 triumph over Milnerton High<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last year, PV<\/strong><\/em> hosted the fixture in Somerset West, where they won 17-7. They’ve started the season well, too, going four for four thus far.<\/p>\n

Fullback Shudley Rhoda<\/strong> has shown a nose for the try line, and he dotted down twice in the win over Milnerton. Strand will need to be wary of his darting runs.<\/p>\n

What Strand will have going for them is home ground support, which they’ll lean on to help them improve upon a record of two wins and five defeats, including three in succession. They face a tough challenge.<\/p>\n

DF Akademie vs Ho\u00ebrskool Tygerberg<\/strong><\/p>\n

DF Akademie<\/strong> suffered a 10-26 loss at Ho\u00ebrskool Melkbosstrand last Saturday<\/strong><\/a>. They last met Ho\u00ebrskool Tygerberg<\/strong> in 2024, when they beat the Tigers<\/strong><\/em> 22-14.<\/p>\n

Tygerberg has suffered some big losses to a couple of heavy-hitters in 2026 – going down 0-71 to Stellenberg High<\/strong> and 14-72 to Rondebosch – but the challenge they face this weekend won’t be as tough.<\/p>\n

Still, they would do well to come away with a win. Perhaps a lesson or two learnt in those big defeats will be of help to them against DF.<\/p>\n
