South Africa&#8217;s first virtual schools&#8217; rugby competition has seen unprecedented numbers of voters and views on social media.<\/p>\n<p>There are only eight schools left in the competition with a chance to walk away with the big prize which includes R15 000 in cash, R8 000 of supplements from <strong>USN<\/strong>, R3 500 of strapping by <strong>StrapFIT<\/strong> as well as a full set of playing jersey sponsored by <strong>Canterbury SA<\/strong>. Our cash prizes are sponsored by our title sponsors, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bdce.co.za\">BDCE<\/a>,<\/strong> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.digicampus.co.za\"><strong>DigiCampus<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Also a big thanks to the team at <a href=\"https:\/\/digitv.co.za\"><strong>DigiTV<\/strong><\/a> who shoots our show each week from their studios in Centurion. Voting opens at 10:00 on Thursday, 3 September 2020, and is only open for 24 hours after the fact. <iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"float: right;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mpW7QRaZ69I?rel=1\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In this week&#8217;s first quarterfinal, it will be <strong>Ho\u00ebrskool Punt<\/strong> (a DigiTV school) taking on Zwartkop of Centurion. Punt already bagged the R5 000 cash prize that was up for grabs for the second-tier school that progressed the furthest during the competition.<\/p>\n<p>Punt has come a long way in the competition as they defeated <strong>Ho\u00ebrskool Koffiefontein (<\/strong>Round 1), Diamantveld (Round 2), <strong>Ho\u00ebrskool Alberton<\/strong> (Round 3), Waterkloof (Round 4), and <strong>Nico Malan (<\/strong>Round 5) to book their place in the last eight. Zwartkop knocked <strong>HTS Tom Naud\u00e9<\/strong> (Round 1), Delmas (Round 2), <strong>Uitenhage HS<\/strong> (Round 3), Ho\u00ebrskool Bellville (Round 4), and <strong>Hoogenhout<\/strong> of Bethal (Round 5) out of the competition to move into the latest round.<\/p>\n<p>In the second quarterfinal, it will be old foes Montana of Pretoria against Marais Viljoen from Alberton. <strong>Montana<\/strong> has beaten Queen&#8217;s College (Round 1), Jan Viljoen (Round 2), Die Anker (Round 3), De Aar (Round 4), and Tygerberg (Round 5) so far in the competition. <strong>Marais Viljoen<\/strong> has left HTS Witbank, Ho\u00ebrskool Tuine, Marlow Landbou of Cradock, Welkom Gimnasium and Eldoraigne in their wake.<\/p>\n<p>In the third quarterfinal, we have a much-anticipated clash between <strong>HTS Drostdy<\/strong> of Worcester and Helpmekaar Kollege from Johannesburg. The Donkies from Worcester kicked Landboudal from Jacobsdal, Vredenburg, Ho\u00ebrskool Driehoek, Hugenote of Springs and Ho\u00ebrskool Klerksdorp out of the competition, while <strong>Helpmekaar<\/strong> helped Fichardtpark, Oosterlig, AHS Kroonstad, Heidelberg Volkskool and Ellisras on their way home.<\/p>\n<p>In the last quarterfinal, we will see <strong>Secunda<\/strong> taking on <strong>Hans Strijdom<\/strong> of Naboomspruit. Secunda knocked Jeppe High School for Boys, Bergsig Academy, Centurion, Ho\u00ebrskool Nelspruit, and Voortrekker from Bethlehem out of the competition. Hans Strijdom also worked hard for their spot in this week&#8217;s knockout stage by defeating Lichtenburg, Piketberg, Fochville, Pretoria-Noord and Pionier along the way.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The first champion of the <strong>BDCE Campus Cup<\/strong> will receive a lucrative prize in R15 000 in cash and also a USN hamper worth R8 000. The losing finalists will also receive a cash prize of R10 000, while there is also something in it for the smaller schools that take part in the competition. The so-called second-tier school that progresses the furthest in the competition will also win R5 000 in cash.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Besides our title sponsors <strong>BDCE<\/strong> and <strong>DigiCampus<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0we also welcomed <strong>StrapFIT<\/strong> on board as a sponsor adding another R6 000 worth of strapping to the prizes. This week we also welcome <strong>Canterbury SA<\/strong> to the sponsors. The winner of each match\/tie is determined by who gets the most votes in the match-up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Show support for your school or community by voting them to the next round.
