\"143027814There might be an alcohol ban in South Africa due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but near the small Northern Cape town of Grootdrink,<\/strong> there will be a set of parents that might be utilising something stronger for the nerves on Friday night.<\/span><\/p>\n

The reason for all these nerves will be a battle almost 13 000km from there which will take place in the Welford Road Stadium in Leicester, England. <\/span><\/p>\n

As the Leicester Tigers<\/strong> will face the Sale Sharks<\/strong> in their Round 7 clash of the Gallagher Premiership match at 21:45 (SAST) there will be a smaller battle between two brothers in the match. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Wiese-brothers<\/strong>, Jasper (25), and Cobus (23), who matriculated at Ho\u00ebrskool Upington<\/strong> about 75km west of Grootdrink. Their parents, Koos and Elmare Wiese farm just outside Grootdrink will without a doubt be following the match with a bit more interest than usual. <\/span><\/p>\n

It will be the third time, besides in their backyard at home, of course, that Jasper<\/strong> (Tigers) and Cobus<\/strong> (Sharks) will face each other on the rugby field. The other two times were when Jasper (Cheetahs) and Cobus (Stormers) faced each other on South African soil. <\/span><\/p>\n

It is literally a world apart as the City of Leicester has a population of approximately 329 839 people, while Grootdrink’s population of 2 645 will surprise some South Africans on how big the town is.  <\/span><\/p>\n

Other Saffas that will be in action in the clash includes Kobus van Wyk<\/strong> (Paarl Gimnasium) and Luan de Bruin<\/strong> (Affies) in the starting line-up and Cyle Brink<\/strong> (King Edward VII) on the bench for the Tigers, while Faf de Klerk<\/strong> (Waterkloof), Akker van der Merwe<\/strong> (Outeniqua) and JP du Preez<\/strong> (EG Jansen) will all start for the Sharks. <\/span><\/p>\n

On the visiting team’s bench Robert du Preez<\/strong> (Kearsney College) and Coenie Oosthuizen<\/strong> (Grey College) will be raring to have a go. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the other Gallagher Premiership match on Friday, the Bristol Bears<\/strong> will host Bath at 21:45. The visitors have the only Saffa in this clash with Juan Schoeman<\/strong> (Affies) starting for them at loose-head prop. <\/span><\/p>\n
