To all Stakeholders,<\/p>\n

We take this opportunity to firstly thank all of those involved in the preparation and facilitation of this tournament which has been in the final stages of
\nplanning for some time.<\/p>\n

As we are all aware, over the course of the last few\u00a0months, school sports have suffered a number of\u00a0setbacks and various stakeholders have had to
\novercome a number of substantial hurdles with\u00a0respect to various regulations and directives\u00a0applicable the return to school sport as well as the\u00a0return to school rugby.<\/p>\n

It was apparent that planning and finalizing this\u00a0festival during the COVID-19 pandemic was always\u00a0going to be hard, with the ultimate goal to see\u00a0school-boy rugby returns with a bang and for all\u00a0schools involved to be given an opportunity to get\u00a0back on the field, doing what they love, playing rugby.<\/p>\n

The SA School ChallengeTrust exists for one reason\u00a0and that is for the development of school-level rugby\u00a0in our country.<\/p>\n

In accordance with the Department of\u00a0Basic Education regulations and the various\u00a0guidelines and correspondence issued by the\u00a0custodians for rugby in South Africa, we were only\u00a0recently given the green light to return to contact\u00a0sport and to begin the final preparations for the\u00a0festival.<\/p>\n

In fact, this festival would have been the first\u00a0school rugby festival since the suspension of school\u00a0rugby over a year ago.<\/p>\n

SA Schools Challenge Trust was created for the sole\u00a0purpose of facilitating and fostering growth in school-level rugby and our mission has always been to\u00a0present opportunities for school-level rugby in South\u00a0Africa to shine and grow.<\/p>\n

We are in the process of negotiating with various\u00a0stakeholders to try to facilitate some sort of\u00a0arrangement that would see this festival take place
\nat a later stage, but we cannot confirm now that\u00a0anything will materialize from this. It is just\u00a0necessary that we place all cards on the table to\u00a0display that we are trying everything in our power to\u00a0correct this situation.<\/p>\n

We are hopeful that moving forward under better and\u00a0less restrictive circumstances and not burdened by\u00a0the overwhelming pressure that has been caused by\u00a0COVID-19 that SA School Challenge Trust can\u00a0implement its manifesto and represent the interest\u00a0of school-level rugby in South Africa successfully.<\/p>\n
