Ho\u00ebrskool Pietersburg<\/strong> and Ligbron Akademie<\/strong> concluded their campaigns at the Fairtree Sport Festival<\/strong>, hosted by Die Ho\u00ebrskool Menlopark<\/strong> in Pretoria, with convincing victories.<\/p>\n

The Pieties’<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>front row once again delivered a dominant performance, with their hooker, Ziahn Lombaard<\/strong>, stealing the spotlight in their 47=12 victory over Ho\u00ebrskool Tygerberg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Lombaard demonstrated why he is a strong contender for inclusion in the Limpopo Blue Bulls<\/strong> squad for the Craven Week<\/strong> later this year.<\/p>\n

He crossed the tryline twice from the back of Pieties<\/strong><\/em>\u2019 powerful driving mauls. However, his performance was about far more than two tries; his relentless work rate,\u00a0 particularly on defence, stood out most.<\/p>\n

Flankers Andru de Beer<\/strong> and Ignus Ferreira <\/strong>reprised the standout showing they produced against Ho\u00ebrskool Fichardtpark <\/strong>on Saturday evening, with Ferreira<\/strong> scoring a try and De Beer<\/strong> being named the Player of the Match for his tireless contribution in open play.<\/p>\n

Lock Ludke Pienaar<\/strong> also deserves special mention. His efforts alongside the loose trio laid the foundation for victory.<\/p>\n

The highlight for the Western Cape side came when their outside centre, Abdul Isaacs<\/strong>, found space and ran in one of his team\u2019s two tries from deep inside his own half.<\/p>\n

Ligbron Akademie<\/strong> absorbed early pressure before powering to a 59\u201329 victory over Ho\u00ebrskool Merensky Landbou Akademie<\/strong> in the opening 1st XV fixture of the day. C<\/p>\n

Captain and eightman Henco Scheepers<\/strong> led from the front, with a hat-trick of tries underlining his influence on the match.<\/p>\n

At the back, fullback Gaston Brown<\/strong> delivered a standout performance and tallied 19 points from a try and seven conversions.<\/p>\n

Outside centre Armand Eloff<\/strong> starred for the Plasies<\/strong>. <\/em>He shone on attack and twice crossed the Liggies<\/strong><\/em>‘ whitewash for tries.<\/p>\n

The Bruinbere<\/strong><\/em>, the 5th XV of Afrikaanse Ho\u00ebr Seunskool<\/strong> (Affies)<\/strong>, ran nine tries in a comprehensive 55-14 defeat of Ho\u00ebrskool Overvaal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Six of their nine tries were shared among three players, with Ben Swarts<\/strong> (eightman), replacement hooker Ewald Hamman<\/strong>, and utility back Liam Kock<\/strong> each crossing the tryline twice.<\/p>\n
