Now, teams are settling into a familiar rhythm for the next couple of months. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In the Western Cape, there will be a plethora of tasty fixtures to look out for on the coming weekend, including two massive derbies, as well as league matches that could shape the complexion of the season for several sides.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">On Friday night, the southern suburbs&#8217; powers &#8211; <strong>South African College High School<\/strong> <strong>(SACS)<\/strong>, <strong>Rondebosch Boys\u2019 High<\/strong>, <strong>Wynberg Boys\u2019 High<\/strong>, and <strong>Bishops<\/strong> &#8211; will all be in action.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">SACS travels to face Rondebosch at the <strong>Western Province Cricket Club<\/strong>, while Bishops hosts Wynberg at the <strong>Woodlands Astroturf<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The clash against &#8216;<em><strong>Bosch<\/strong><\/em> will be SACS&#8217;s first since retaining their <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/sacs-shows-class-to-claim-back-to-back-hibbert-shield-titles\/\">Hibbert Shield title<\/a><\/strong> a fortnight ago at <strong>Grey High School<\/strong> in Gqeberha.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Coach <strong>Sam Holmes<\/strong>&#8216;s charges defeated <strong>Parel Vallei High<\/strong> 5-2 in the final to equal <strong>Paul Roos Gimnasium<\/strong>&#8216;s record of three Hibbert Shield titles. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">They\u2019ll be buzzing ahead of the Rondebosch clash, but will also be fully aware of the threat the men in navy and yellow pose. Under coach <strong>Waseem Domingo<\/strong>, Rondebosch has handled its business quietly and efficiently this season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">After returning from a tour to <strong>The Netherlands<\/strong>, where they participated in the <strong>European\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><strong>Hockey<\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong> Club Organization (EHCO) Tournament<\/strong>, &#8216;Bosch took on Wynberg and convincingly won that clash 4-1.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_94887\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-94887\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-94887\" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-05-06-at-10.47.47-400x239.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"239\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-94887\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bishops will hunt the huge scalp of Wynberg on Friday night. Photo: <strong>Frank Cadiz<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A week later, their league fixture against <strong>Fairmont High<\/strong> was called off due to bad weather after leading 4-0 at the break. In their most recent outing, they dominated the <strong>La<\/strong><strong>nga Hockey Club<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Rondebosch will feel confident that they can push SACS hard this year and overturn a hefty 1-7 loss they suffered last August.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bishops, meanwhile, enter their clash against Wynberg brimming with confidence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">After a much-improved showing at the Hibbert Shield, coach <strong>Ryan Julius&#8217;<\/strong>s side picked up a comfortable 5-1 win in midweek against <strong>Reddam House Constantia<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In Wynberg, they&#8217;re up against a well-coached outfit that&#8217;s hurting after going down 2-3 to Fairmont High in their last outing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Speaking of Fairmont, they&#8217;ll be keen to continue their impressive run in the Premier League when they lock horns with <strong>Ho\u00ebrskool Durbanville<\/strong> on Friday night.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_94888\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-94888\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-94888\" src=\"https:\/\/ssschoolsplus.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/fairmont-400x267.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-94888\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Fairmont High has started brightly in the Premier League and will be tested by Durbanville on Friday night. Photo:<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/fairmonthockeygreenmachine\"> Fairmont Hockey<\/a><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Apart from the big scalp of Wynberg, coach <strong>Bryce West<\/strong>&#8216;s side has also beaten Langa 2-1, and toppling Durbanville would add a cherry to the top of the cake.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>Paul Roos Gimnasium<\/strong> <strong>(PRG)<\/strong> returns to action with a double dose of action, taking on <strong>Somerset College<\/strong> on Friday and Durbanville on Saturday morning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Coach <strong>Michael Baker<\/strong>&#8216;s side will fancy themselves in both outings.
