Affies het in die openingswedstryd van die <strong>Absa Wildeklawer-toernooi<\/strong> in Kimberley vir Oakdale Landbou met 25-7 die loef afgesteek.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Die Wit Bulle het teen rustyd reeds &#8216;n voorsprong van 20-7 op Diamantveld se hoofveld opgebou. Dit was die vleuel <strong>Marx Nel<\/strong> wat die vonk verskaf het wat die telbord aan die rol gekry het.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nel is sterk op sy bene en het met sy drie &#8216;n hele paar verdedigers van hom af laat spat. Dit was die span van Riversdal se eerste sege ooit oor Affies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Affies se flank&nbsp;<strong>Dieter Schubert<\/strong>&nbsp;het &#8216;n skitterende wedstryd voorlangs beleef. Hy het fisiek by die afbreekpunte ingeklim en was ook op verdediging vir sy span goud werd.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Schubert is ook na afloop van die wedstryd welverdiend as <strong>Speler van die Wedstryd<\/strong> aangewys.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Affies se kaptein en losskakel, <strong>Stehan Heymans<\/strong>, kan ook tevrede met sy vertoning voel. Hy het &#8216;n paar lang lynskoppe lanseer om Oakdale terug te dryf en ook spel goed dikteer. Heymans is die seun van die voormalige senter van Noordwes en Oostelike Provinsie, Fanie Heymans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Oakdale se haker, <strong>Jurgen van Staden<\/strong>, het voorlangs gewoel en &#8216;n hele paar manne besig gehou. Agterlangs het <strong>Kobus Janse van Rensburg<\/strong> in die middelveld vir die span van Riversdal moedig probeer.<\/p>\n<p>Affies kom Maandag in sy tweede wedstryd van die toernooi teen <strong>Glenwood<\/strong> van Durban te staan. Oakdale se tweede wedstryd is teen die ander rugbykrag van Durban, <strong>Durban High School<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Puntemakers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Affies 25 (20) &#8211;<\/strong> Drie\u00eb: Hanro Venter (2), Marx Nel.
