  • Rooiskool behou vlekkelose rekord teen Louis Botha

Die span se agtsteman, Drikus Klopper, was uitmuntend.

  • The St. Stithian’s Easter Festival promises to be an awesome event in 2015

The St. Stithian’s Easter Festival promises to be an awesome event in 2015

Saints2015The largest and oldest schools sports festival in South Africa is set to grow even larger in 2015, with the addition of a Prep Sports Festival to take place the weekend before the Easter weekend.

The Rector of St Stithians, Tim Nuttall, states that “St Stithians is proud of the way the Festival has become a must-attend event each year. We attract top sporting schools – 47 in total – from across South Africa, as well as Zimbabwe, Namibia and the United Kingdom.”

The Festival is an exciting family event. There are two concerts, hospitality venues, and a variety of vendors and stalls. Children from 4-10 are catered for in a secure and fenced-off entertainment area, while we offer teens from 11-18 a Chill Zone that boasts music, access to WiFi and plenty of refreshments.

Tim Nuttall continues, “We appreciate the dedication of our parent and alumnus volunteers who work with the school staff to make the Festival happen. We are grateful for the anchor sponsorship provided by Standard Bank. This is a great partnership between St Stithians’ staff, parents, alumni and corporate sponsors.”

ST STITHIANS EASTER SPORTS FESTIVAL (2, 4, 6 APRIL 2015)
The annual St Stithians Easter Sports Festival has grown into a unique sporting event in the South African schools’ calendar. Beginning as a Rugby Festival in 1984, 32 years ago, the Easter Sports Festival has grown to include another five sporting codes, including hockey (boys and girls), netball, tennis (boys), basketball (boys) and squash (boys and girls).

This family-oriented weekend caters for young and old, offering a full programme of high-quality sporting action, entertainment, hospitality and food, and attracting up to 25 000 spectators. Around 130 fixtures are played over the Easter weekend, involving over 1 200 sportsmen and women from leading schools across the country.
